Suikerrock is a rock/popfestival in the city of Tienen, in the centre of Belgium. Tienen is best known for it's sugar refinery, hence the name of the festival (suiker = sugar).
The festival already runs for 26 years, and in the past we've programmed international acts like Moby, Mika, Roxette, ZZ Top, Jamiroquai, LMFAO, Seal, John Fogerty, Deep Purple, Alice Cooper, Roxy Music, Lionel Richie, Simple Minds, Texas, Lauryn Hill, Tiësto, Zucchero, Juanes, Iggy Pop, The Sisters Of Mercy, Status Quo, Heather Nova, Suzanne Vega, Within Temptation, Therapy?, Shaggy, Craig David, Eddy Grant, UB40, Björn Again, Echo & The Bunnymen, Human League, Fisher Z, Level42, Katrina & The Waves, Luka Bloom, Right Said Fred , Candy Dulfer, Tom Robinson Band, Kid Creole & The Coconuts, Mory Kanté, Kool & The Gang, Dog Eat Dog, Howard Jones, Matt Bianco, Heaven 17, Bollock Brothers, The Selecter.
The mainstage is located on the beautiful market square, the Grote Markt.
There is an additional stage with new upcoming bands on a nearby market place (Veemarkt), and in the streets between the two stages there's a lot of animation.
Only for the mainstage tickets are required, the other parts of the festival are free.

The ticket must be swapped for a wrist band at the stated date at one of the three entrances (Leuvensestraat, Peperstraat, Kalkmarkt). You will then have free access to the Grote Markt. The entrances are open from 17.00 on Thursday and Friday and from 13.00 on Saturday and Sunday.

The organiser reserves the right to deny access if the ticket was not purchased through official sales channels. This ticket may not be refunded or exchanged. All misuse, forgery or fraud is subject to legal prosecution. Changes to the programme do not entitle ticket holders to a full or partial refund of the festival ticket. The organiser may not be held liable for circumstances resulting from force majeure. Festival tickets may not be used for commercial or promotional purposes without the organiser’s consent.
The following items will not be allowed past the entrances: sharp objects, weapons, glass, cans, bottles (glass & plastic) professional photo, film and recording equipment, food and drink, drugs, animals (with the exception of guide dogs for people who are visually impaired), fireworks, fold-up chairs, push chairs and any object that could pose a danger to safety. By entering the festival grounds, visitors consent to all possible preventative and monitoring security measures including identity checks, body searches and bag searches. If these measures are not complied with, entry may be denied. It is strictly forbidden to conduct promotional or commercial activities on the festival site without prior written consent from the organiser. The artists and organisers of the festival may not be held liable for any damage, loss or theft of any other accidents that may occur.
Tienen is located at approximately 40 km in eastern direction from Brussels.
Brussels national airport or Eurostar/Thalys railwaystation are a 30 to 45 minutes drive away. Ostend harbour (ferry) is a 1,5 hour drive from Tienen.
You can reach Tienen via the E40 motorway Ostend-Brussels-Liège, exit 25 Tienen. You can also take the train, using the line which runs between Ostend, Brussels and Liege. The Tienen trainstation is at walking distance from the Grote Markt.

There isn't much hotel capacity in and around Tienen, and most of it has already been reserved for bands and technical crews. The nearest-by town with sufficient hotelcapacity is Louvain, at +/- 16 km from Tienen (between Brussel and Tienen).
The major 5-star hotels are located in Brussels (Sheraton, Hilton, Plaza, Conrad).
